The City of Louisville requires the licensing of all dogs within City's limits according to the Louisville Municipal Code, Chapter 6.02 through 6.12.
How do I pay for a dog license?

A payment link will be emailed to you after submitting your application. Please allow two business days after application submission for the payment link to arrive. If you haven't received an email after two business days, please check your junk/spam folders and reach out to make sure we have the correct email address on file.
How much do I have to pay for a dog license?
- $14.00 – Per neutered male or spayed female dog
- $20.00 – Per intact (not neutered or spayed) male or female dog
How to apply for a dog license in person
- Stop by the City Clerk's Office from Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday by appointment only.
