Get a contractor license

Contractors working in Louisville must have a City of Louisville contractor license before they can be listed on a building permit.
How to apply
Step 1: Create an online account
Create an account in the online permit portal.
The person who holds the ICC certification or master license must create their own account using their email address and phone number.
Step 2: Complete the application
Fill out the online application and upload the required documents.

The City of Louisville only accepts testing documents from the International Code Council (ICC) and the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
Step 3: Pay the license fee
Your application will not be reviewed until payment has been made.
Step 4: Wait for approval
Most applications are reviewed the same day or the next business day.
After your application is approved, you will receive an email.
View your license
After approval:
- Sign in to the online portal.
- Select View.
- Select My Contractor Licenses.
- Open your license.
- Use the print icon to download a PDF copy.
