Youth Advisory Board

The Youth Advisory Board helps the Louisville City Council on issues affecting young people in Louisville. 

Mission Statement

The Louisville Youth Advisory Board serves as a link between the City Council and the youth of Louisville to identify issues pertaining to youth, communicate the concerns of youth, and suggest possible City Council action to be taken. The Board seeks a diverse group of applicants in order to best represent the youth of the community. Through monthly volunteer projects, the board encourages youth involvement.

Meetings

Regular meetings are at 6:00 PM on the first Thursday of each month at the Public Library, first floor meeting room, 951 Spruce Street.

Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings and give comments remotely using the links below. However, the in-person meeting may continue even if technology issues prevent remote participation.

Please give at least two business days’ notice.

Who May Apply

  • Must live in Louisville
  • Must be in sixth to twelth grade this school year

What Members Do

  • Share ideas, from a youth's perspective
  • Learn about local government
  • Give opinion on current City projects
  • Build leadership and communication skills
  • Meet and connect with students from different schools and ages

Time Commitment

  • People join the Board for 2 school years (members may apply again)
  • Meetings are from October to May
  • Meet on the first Thursday evening of each month
  • Additional meetings/projects are determined by board

How to Join

  • Applications are available and due at the end of Summer
  • Interviews are held in September

  • Post mail at City Hall, 749 Main Street Louisville CO 80027. Please write “Youth Advisory Board” on the envelope.
The staff liaison will add any questions or comments to the public meeting packet.
Keep in mind that anything you send to the Board can be viewed by the public under the Colorado Open Records Act.
