To report a coyote conflict, complete the reporting form. Open Space staff will contact you when your report is received.
Living with coyotes
Coyotes and people have shared the same neighborhoods for a long time. You might spot a coyote while visiting Louisville Open Space areas. Coyotes do well in cities because they can easily find food, water, and places to live. Since they spend so much time around people, some coyotes aren't very scared of us anymore. Coyotes almost never hurt people, but it's good to know what to do if you see one.

Normal vs. abnormal coyote behavior
Knowing the difference between normal and abnormal coyote behavior can help you decide when to report a concern.
- Growling or showing teeth at people.
- Chasing people.
- Stalking someone by crouching low or hiding behind objects while following them.
If you notice any abnormal coyote behavior, fill out the reporting form and email it to the Open Space Division at Coyotes@louisvilleco.gov.
