Get a right-of-way or easement permit
Doing construction or utility work in a City street, sidewalk, or easement? You need a permit first. Here's what you need to know.
Important: You must have a signed, approved permit before starting work. If work begins before the permit is issued, all fees are doubled.
How to get a permit
1. Apply and pay your fees.
Every permit starts with a $75 base fee, paid before work begins. To complete your application, you'll need to provide documentation like your site plan, traffic control plan, and a list of the materials and equipment to be used. Depending on the type of work you're doing, you may need to provide your concrete or pavement mix, or concrete flow design.

- Warrant your work for 2 years after the City accepts it.
- Traffic control devices must be in place before work starts and must follow the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
