Tutoring

Current Availability

The tutoring program is currently full. Please check back next semester for openings.

Need a little extra help with school? The library offers a free, volunteer-based tutoring program for students in grades 6-12. We match students with tutors based on availability and subject area, and scheduled pairs meet once a week for one hour throughout the semester.

How It Works

  • Tell us what subject you need help with and when you are available.
  • We find a tutor who is a good match for you.
  • Your tutor will reach out to coordinate a weekly one-hour meeting.
  • Tutoring continues for the duration of the semester.

Matches are made on a first-come, first-served basis and depend on tutor availability. A match is not guaranteed.

Program Policies

These policies help make sure every student and tutor has a great experience.

Absences
Please contact the library as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. Two unexcused absences may result in losing your spot in the program. An unexcused absence means you missed a session without notifying the library beforehand.

Tardiness
If you are running late, please let us know. Arriving 15 or more minutes late without contacting the library counts as an unexcused absence.

Preparedness
Students are expected to arrive with all the materials they need and a clear plan for what they want to work on that day.
