To help residents and visitors explore our extensive trail system, Open Space Staff have put together "Loops in Louisville", a compilation of some of our favorite trail connections. The routes are organized into 1-mile, 5k, and 10k categories and are rated as easy, moderate, or difficult based on length and elevation changes. Regardless of your age, fitness level, or ability, our trails are for everyone.

This route consists of one loop around the Hecla Reservoir. Street parking is available along Lakespur Lane or Ella Court. This trail is both soft surface and concrete.
Distance: 5k (approx. 6,511 steps)
Difficulty: Moderate
This route consists of one loop on the outer trail of Davidson Mesa. Parking is available in the Davidson Mesa parking area off McCaslin Boulevard. This trail is entirely soft surface.
Recreation & Senior Center (10k loop)
Distance: 10k (approx. 13,213 steps)
Difficulty: Difficult (Includes hills)
This route consists of one loop that starts and ends at the Louisville Recreation and Senior Center. Parking is available in the Recreation & Senior Center parking lot. This loop incorporates Harper Lake, North Open Space, Callahan Open Space, Centennial Park, Cottonwood Park, Lake Park, and Walnut Open Space. This trail is both soft surface and concrete.
